I'm on strict bedrest - only allowed out of bed for 1 shower a day plus bathroom privileges - but my OB added in a 30 minute wheelchair ride per day! Yay! We've been going downstairs just outside the hospital for some fresh air. It's a nice treat. (It'll be even nicer when a 30 minute wheelchair ride is NOT the highlight of my day...)
I've also been visited by my awesome friends who keep bringing me food from the outside world... which has been a saving grace. Shout outs to Kirby, Maddie, Brian & Jules - you guys are amazing and I am so lucky to have you as friends!!
During all this time, Leah has been working her tail off at the Texas Legislature - it's the 82nd Session and she's been shepherding 4 bills for 2 different agencies through both the State House and Senate. She's been working days at the Capitol and sleeping nights on an awesome hospital cot... what a trooper. Somehow she still manages to get out the door at 7 am looking spiffy in her suit despite getting ready from a 8' x 8' hospital room. Today she was called to the Senate floor to be available to answer questions on one of the bills, which hardly ever happens! I'm so proud of the juggling act she is doing to keep one foot firmly planted with her growing family and the other keeping all her responsibilities at work moving forward. Best. Wife. Ever!
There are lots of grey suits in the picture, but she's the 4th person from the right, including that dude under the gold railing.
