November 2010

Thus far, the pregnancy had proceeded fairly uneventfully!  I had terrible morning sickness and took daily "resting" naps on the couch at the lab.  I was convinced I was fooling everyone, but it turns out no one was buying it... :).  Below are pictures of the babies at 12 weeks old.  As they say, hindsight is 20/20... if you look at the amniotic fluid in each sac (the black space surrounding each baby), you can begin to see the initial signs of TTTS - very clearly unequal levels of fluid in each sac.  Unfortunately, this appointment was not with my usual and amazing twin specialist, Dr. Jeff Ridgeway, but with one of his colleagues who I was not as impressed with...  Jeff wouldn't be able to diagnose the TTTS until my next appointment, 4 weeks later.

View of Baby B is of it's side, it's lying on it's back.
Head to the right, butt to the left.
You can see a hand (a white blob) next to the profile of it's face!
Fuzzy gray things sticking up on the left are it's legs and feet.

View of Baby A is of it's back.
