Welcome, Fire Bob!

I've oft commented that, like most parents, I've grown to love the mispronunciations.  Let's be real, it's adorbs.

When they move away from these verbal stylings it often feels more like a loss then a gain.  There is a mixture of pride and sadness.  "Look at you, tiny human!  You are becoming proficient!"  At the same time you can't help but think, "You are becoming less and less my tiny human. Slow the hell down. What are you trying to grow up for?"

Unless you develop a sort of thick skin, or at least a willful ignorance, these little reminders crop up fairly constantly and can knock you off your feet.  In the span of a week their pants get too short.  All of the sudden she not only makes jokes, but gives you funny and sarcastic looks.  They spend hours making up games with all kinds of characters and intricate (if nonsensical) plot lines. She can say "blanket."

Thankfully we still only have "bwankquets" in our house, but the day is coming.

Along these lines, we also have a new-found group of friends who have joined us this holiday season.  They are Rudolph, Luis, and Fire Bob.  Some people call them Rudolph, Clarice, and Fireball, but not us.

I can't wait to see the kinds of adventures Luis and Fire Bob get into. I am thankful for seasonal claymation specials, and the new characters they bring into our lives.
