The mom I want to be

That's the mom who, when the girls are 35, can still show up and make everything better.

Mimi hopped on a choo-choo to save us from ourselves this past weekend.  Clearly the previous week was not awesome.  Mimi showed up, cleaned up, and generally made everything better.  I hope to god I have her stamina when I am ... mumble, mumble.

We took no pictures because I was napping every chance I got, but Mimi was amazing.  She was dealing with three fairly grumpy Dalys and she did a bang-up job.

She arrived with shopping supplies in hand to fill out the girls' play kitchen.  They absolutely love the basket and sundry goods and we go "shopping" daily now.  This intensive shopping preparation certainly paid dividends when we actually went to Whole Foods on Sunday.  No one in their right mind goes to Whole Foods in Newton on Sunday.  That said, it went so well that when we were leaving the grocery store Em started chanting "Shopping! Shopping!" so we rolled our little party down to Target.

Having mentioned that we needed a Dustbuster to deal with the girls' graduation to the big kid table, Mimi swept in (ha) and got me something to play with too.  It turns out no one misses the crunchy rug.

So, Mimi, thank you for pitching in and keeping us going.  It meant the world.
