The 2012 Bluebonnet Pictures

It's a true Texas tradition to pull over on the side of the highway, plop your baby in the ever-present field of bluebonnet wildflowers, and click away.  Given that we'd been warned about snakes and spiders and such in these fields, we opted to take the girls to a nearby park with our friends Kim and Lauren, and their daughter Hailey, and spend the day "hiking" around and then finish up with the photo op.  Here is the result!

(ps. The 2012 Bluebonnet adventure actually took place last weekend, before the 2012 Hand, Foot & Mouth plague.  So babies and moms were still feeling pretty good.)

Huge thank you to Erin & Di for the awesome Paul Frank outfits - the girls rock them.  And another big thanks to Gram & Poppy for the adorable Easter dresses -  we LOVE them!  xo.

We "hiked" for a bit (aka walked around) and then had a little baby picnic on the grass.

Good job keeping hydrated, ladies!
Then I made us change the girls into Easter dresses for their bluebonnet photo shoot.  L wasn't as psyched about the formal affair, but I really wanted it so she was a great compromiser!  I didn't really get "the money shot" that I wanted of the girls... We may have to venture out again!

When taking pictures of babies, always bring noisemakers.  Human or otherwise.

Hailey wasn't the biggest fan of sitting on scratchy grass in the hot sun, but she held up like a trooper.

  1. I often pop on to the Daly Story when I'm particularly stressed out and need a diversion. It was perfect today. Bluebonnets and babies. Who could ask for a better stress-reducer!
