Could it possibly be...?
...our last night?? It's too hard trying not to be excited about this (a la our "no expectations" rule for ourselves)! If Emerson doesn't have any other breathing or heartrate drops tonight, we'll all be going home tomorrow, Wednesday! We're feeling a little apprehensive, as she just had one during dinner (drops during feedings don't count towards restarting a countdown)... We'll see!
Today was also a big day. Pops left today and said goodbye to both girls before heading to Dallas for work.

Charlotte took her first car ride! We took her to the pediatrician for her first check-up, and glad to say she did quite well. Her weight is up to 4 lbs, 12 oz - she gained 6 oz in the 2 days since discharge! Of course, the scientist in me must note that there is certainly a degree of error due to variation between the NICU & the pediatrician's scales... but still, it seems she is gaining good weight! :)

And this is another pic of the girls taken together in the NICU from Saturday... I can't help posting it, despite the fact that we already posted another quite similar one - they are just too sweet, especially with Charlotte's right dimple showing! They both have a pretty strong right dimple, but we aren't sure about the left side yet...
Loving all of this! Just love keeping up. Good luck if home tomorrow--I'm thinking of you all and hoping! PS Charlotte is totally smiling in this dimple pic.
ReplyDeleteDouble Daly Dimples! Love it. And agree with Julia, loving the updates and eating up every single picture. The more the better in my book!
ReplyDeleteSending positive "get out of jail" vibes to little Miss Emerson today!
Wonderful news! I hope as I type this you are all on your way home...your real home! I'd love to visit during lunch sometime next week. I have gifts for the girls!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Social Security Numbers ... we are 17 numbers apart. Apparently in the 10 minutes that separate Bec and I, there was quite a bit of activity as well!
ReplyDeleteAll soooo exciting. I love the dimples!
ReplyDeleteand, to add to chris' ssn comment....make sure the girls memorize both numbers as it will come in VERY handy :)
