Older folks everywhere love to tell me this when they see me out and about with the girls. They smile sweetly, admiring my little monkeys, nostalgic for some other time in their lives when they had a little person giving them peanut butter kisses and handing off partly chewed banana slices with an "I don't want it..." They forget how hard it can be, but that doesn't bother me because I know they are right.
Babies don't keep. It really is amazing how quickly life moves as a parent.
