Hey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything is alright

There are studies that explain why we can remember lyrics but not people's names or dates or what we did last weekend.  All I know is that about three times a week the girls do something that makes me think of a song.  Maybe it is because songs sometimes capture silly or tiny moments in a way that is a heck of a lot more poetic than any accompanying thought like "Wow, it is neat the way she is watching that bird."

So, a few weeks ago they got some new shoes.  "Obsessed" does not adequately cover how the little ladies feel about shoes -- theirs, mine, yours, anyone's.  Now, truth be told, they have historically only had 1-2 pairs at any time.... so I want to make it clear that this is not an Imelda Marcos situation.  Basically, anytime there is a pair that is new to them around they will try it out.

Mama changed her closet and all I got were some espadrilles

For the last week they have been eagerly selecting which new shoes to wear and getting very excited each time they put them on ("self!") or put them on with assistance ("help!")

Here's my soundtrack:
