Since it's so darn hot in Texas in the summer, the city of Austin has a bunch of splash pads around town for kiddos to play in. There is one just a few blocks from our house and we tried it out last weekend. It was such a hit! Almost the whole area is covered by the branches of these beautiful old pecan trees, so there is a ton of shade. And, since it isn't in one of the major Austin parks, it's a little more out of the way and doesn't draw an enormous crowd. The girls loved it!
Emerson was not the least bit intimidated and went right for the water. It took Charlotte a little longer to warm up to the situation, but she had just as much fun sitting in the water and watching her sister and all the other little kids run around.
Thanks, Kaiti & Chaz, for the awesome summer water hats - they were perfect! Hats + bathing suits = flower explosion! :)
Char is in the hat with the purple brim with lines, Emma is in the hat with an orange brim and orange and aqua flowers on top.
