The last couple of weekends have been a little rough because I am approaching a work deadline. I don't get a lot of time during the week with the chicklets so losing the weekend to work is, well, rough. Add to that the fact that Chris is then solo with them, which is she is great at(!), but let's be honest is usually somewhat exhausting.
She decided to brave food shopping with them this morning (a Sunday) when I took off for work. So not only is she on nugget duty but she is also doing crappy errands... while the rest of humanity is also out doing crappy errands. I would have called it off right there but she is a stronger woman than I am.
Since everything these two jokers is a logistical undertaking she went to Central Market North since they have the sweet double seat carts. Yep, that's how we pick where to shop these days. Some "gentleman" with only one child took the last double (special place in hell for you, sir) and so things got off to a rocky start. C wisely involved the store and they helped her find another one. In the process one baby almost hit the pavement (nice save, mommy), another took on the role of Cap'n Crabby, and someone else's blood sugar plummeted.
Chris got a scone, despite our dietary guidelines the girls might get some too, and its time to start shopping. Clearly I'm working through a combination of pride and guilt with this post. I feel so blessed to have the family I do.
And then I got this photo entitled: Hanging In There.
If she makes it home with half a bag of peanuts I call today a wild success. Thank you for taking care of everything, Mommy!
