Well, last Friday we were told by the pedi that the girls could start eating solids, so we started the next day (last Saturday). We've been making all our own baby food and it is SO darn fun! Meal #1 was mushed up avocado puree and meal #2 was sweet potato puree.
Em was very into it. She took to it right away - leaning towards us, opening her mouth, smiling, asking for more... Char was not so sure, however. She might be our picky eater... a week later the only thing she's really eaten has been banana. We'll keep trying!
Videos of their first bites... I was actually fairly nervous at first, which is funny looking back now... Leah wasn't so hesitant about the mess that they would make! The amazing bibs they are wearing are from my friend, Yuiko. She went home to Japan last spring and brought them back these bibs - they are so adorable, right??
Pictures of their second meal... The Aden + Anais bibs in this feeding are from our friends Mike & Katy. They double as burp cloths, so we've actually been using them for months now!

Update: Today (Sunday 11/20/11) is the first day that Char has eaten since last weekend... the meal today? Banana! Of course I would have a child who refuses to eat anything except bananas... :) :) (The back story is that I have a strange and extreme dislike of bananas. The smell, the texture, the flavor - all of it just makes me feel nauseous and icky all over. Awesome.)
