Day 8

C, eating from a bottle in the NICU

We're a week old!  The sweet and kind Dr. Prabhu estimated today that we might be going home on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. Moms looked kind of white when he said this, but we're really excited to see our new nursery.  


That's me, Charlotte, getting fed breastmilk from a little plastic bottle.  The bottle holds 2 ounces, but I'm still only eating about an ounce per meal.  My sister, on the other hand, is getting big!  She can eat almost 1.5 ounces!  I hope she doesn't roll over and crush me when we're sleeping at home...

Neither of us are back up to our birth weights yet, though.  I was 1907 grams at birth (4 lbs, 5 oz), got down to 1743 grams, and am now back up to 1772g!  Emerson weighed 1868g at birth (4 lbs, 3 oz), got down to 1751g, and now weighs 1803g.
